Review of Institutional Performance & Enhancement (RIPE) 

Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) is one of the main pillars of the revamped Quality Assurance Framework titled “Pakistan Precepts, Standards and Guidelines (PSG 2023)”, developed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan in collaboration with QAA-UK.

RIPE provides a structured approach for evaluating and enhancing institutional performance through both Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and External Quality Assurance (EQA) mechanisms. It aligns global quality assurance standards with Pakistan’s local academic environment, ensuring relevance, accountability, and continuous improvement across higher education institutions.

At Foundation University Islamabad (FUI), RIPE is instrumental in promoting a culture of evidence-based decision- making, academic excellence, and stakeholder engagement across all levels. 

The RIPE framework is organized around 16 Quality Standards, grouped into three thematic areas:

  • 8: Academic Programs and Curricula
  • 9:: Admission, Progression, Assessment, and Certification
  • 10: Student Support Services
  • 11: Impactful Teaching, Learning, and Community Engagement
  • 12: Research, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Industrial Linkage

C. Institutional Development

  • 13: Fairness and Integrity
  • 14: Public Information and Transparency
  • 15:: Institutional Effectiveness, Quality Assurance, and Enhancement
  • 16: Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Cyclical External Quality Assurance
