Introduced in the year 1989 by the European Council within the framework of Long Learning Programme, the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centered credit system. The ECTS credit express the volume of learning based on the defined learning outcomes and their associated workload. The ECTS is followed by the higher education institutions in the European Union and the universities having European Higher Education Charter ECTS credit.

ECTS Equivalence Committee - FUSST

One of the key requirements of the international student’s mobility is the existence of mechanism to account for credits acquired abroad in the degree programmes. For this purpose, FUI has constituted an ECTS Equivalence Committee at the Foundation University School of Science & Technology – FUSST.

The ECTS Equivalence Committee will determine the credit equivalence of the courses being taken by the FUI outgoing students on Erasmus and Bilateral Exchange programmes before their application processing and also provide similar support to the incoming mobility students (at FUI) from Higher Education Institutions belonging to the European Higher Education Area. The table below represents the list of the committee members.

Manager Academics & Coordination (manageracad.furc@fui.edu.pk) shall be the recipient of all such cases/applications for review of the ECTS Equivalence Committee and may also communicate the recommendations of the subject committee well in time to the respective departmental Focal Person.

The departmental Focal Person, upon receipt of the recommendations from the ECTS Equivalence Committee, forward the students’ application, the supporting documents and copy of the said recommendations to the international office of FUI for onward submission to the Host Institution.
