A group of 12 students and 2 faculty members, Dr. Raja Nasim Akhtar and Ms. Sundus Durrani, Fauji Foundation University attended this year’s Summer School trip at #University of #Bedfordshire (UoB), #Luton.

This Academic and Cultural Exchange Programmes’ activities were spread over 5 days from September 16th to 20th and included sessions and discussions on UK Culture, UK Life and new work policies, 3+1 programmes, CV writing, interview techniques for jobs in the UK. Students sat for an English Language test (similar to IELTS) designed by UoB and attended various taster lectures at the Department of Psychology, Business and Arts. 5 day activities also included 2 trips organised by UoB to Cambridge University and London.

Students not only participated in academic and British Cultural activities but, tasted the living of local Pakistani & Kashmiri community. They met Businessmen of various trades, teachers, councillors, Imam of Luton’s Jamia Mosque and Pakistani students studying at UoB. But, amongst all these exchanges the most memorable (for students) was the invitation by Mayor’s office at their Town Hall. Honorable Mayor Tahir Malik hosted a tea in delegation’s honour.

It was all in all a diverse experience for students; an experience they wish to have once more at another venue.
