Introduction

PhD English Literature at FUI is a full-time research degree programme intended to hone their research skills to highest level so that they are well versed with the current and reigning research skills in their fields of study. Our ultimate goal is to transform our scholars into expert researchers capable of producing research of highest quality where they can break new grounds and publish their works at international forums. This is coupled with our aim to provide them intensive exposure to in-depth understanding of the major frameworks and theories in their respective disciplines. This combination, in our view, is the ideal blend to produce graduates of international standard who are capable of competing at any level with promise of success

Aims and Objectives

The key aims and objectives of the PhD English Literature programme are to:

• Equip the scholars with the theoretical and practical knowledge of research and advanced concepts in their chosen field to enable them to become experts in the selected areas
• Enable the scholars to pursue independent research in their fields
• Enable the scholars to supervise research work in their areas
