Research awards are granted on annual basis to recognize the contributions of the faculty members in research and publications. Research awards are of three types:
Fauji Foundation Research Awards: There are three such awards for the best researcher from each of the constituent Institute/Colleges. It comprises of a shield, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The nominations are based on predefined point system criteria.
The winners of the “Fauji Foundation Research Award” for 2008 were:
1. Dr Huma Musarrat Khan, Associate Professor Anatomy, FUMC
2. Dr Humayun Naeem,Associate Professor, FUIEMS
3. Dr Muhammad Tayyab Alam,Associate Professor, FUCLAS
Foundation University Islamabad Research Awards: These awards are meant to further encourage the faculty in conducting and publishing research. There is no limit to the number of nominations, and under this scheme, all efforts are acknowledged and rewarded by certificates, shields and cash prizes.
Awards for Publication in accredited International Journals: These awards are given to those scholars whose work has been published in accredited International Journals (Ulrich, ISI/Thompson and JCR indexed). The amount of cash prize depends on the impact factor of the journal and place of the faculty member in the list of authors.
