The Department of Urology was established in 1993 in Fauji Foundation Hospital Rawalpindi . It is a specialized tertiary care unit dealing with all kinds of adult and paediatric urological cases. The department has state of the art Endourological equipment and all Endoscopic and open urological procedures are routinely carried out.
The Department is actively engaged in the training of Undergraduate students of FUMC and also in the training of Postgraduate residents in accordance with the requirements of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan. The department has full recognition by the College of Physician & Surgeons of Pakistan for purpose of training of FCPS in Urology.
The department has particular interest in live related Renal Transplantation, Reconstructive Urology, Endoscopic Management of Renal Stones, Paediatric Urology and Uro-Oncology. The major workload comprises urolithiasis, benign prostate hyperplasia, and prostate, renal and bladder cancer.
