Department of Psychiatry comprises of a qualified teaching faculty which is involved in under graduate / post graduate teaching and patients care.
It has fully equipped staff comprising of doctors psychologists and trained nursing staff along with both male female wards and out patients facilities. It deals with all types of cases which include Adult Psychiatry Geriatric Psychiatry Child Psychiatry Mental Sub Normality Drugs dependence etc. it works in close collaboration with other allied specialties (liaison psychiatry) and is also involved in research activities.
The academic training involves formal lectures clinical demonstrations case presentations / discussions clinico pathological presentations by the students ward rounds and tests.
